Leadership

We are very keen for members to develop their leadership skills. You can do this informally by volunteering for roles or getting involved in the running of the club in a number of ways outlined below.

There is also a formal leadership track which can be pursued as part of the toastmasters education programme.

Becoming a Club Leader

We are always on the look out for people willing to serve as committee leaders and to get involved in the running of the club.

Please contact us if you would like to help in any way. This year, there will be elections for a new committee as we prepare to Charter but for the the moment we have a temporary committee open to anyone with an interest in helping out. [Find out more about the committee roles]

Mentoring

Volunteering as a mentor is a great way to help the club. A Mentor is someone who takes a personal interest in and helps another member, often with less experience than themselves.

The Mentor serves as a role model, coach, and confidante, offering knowledge, insight, perspective, or wisdom useful to the Mentee. This empowers the Mentee to learn and advance more quickly.

Speak Easy is looking for Mentors, please discuss with the [Vice President of Education] to volunteer

Leadership Workshops

As part of Leadership Awards (CL and AL) workshops are periodically run as part of the agenda. This supports the development of the club, the members and the individual running the session.

Workshops held at Speak Easy
